Cultural day - from cane to sugar
Category: Events, Culture
Date: Friday 25 oct 2019 - Friday 27 Dec 2019
Follow us from the fields, with our authentic cane cutters, through to the harvesting process at the Bois-Rouge factory.
In the wonderful world of the factory, where distillation columns and stills sit side by side, we’ll watch the various stages in the manufacture of sugar and rum. Finally, with the smell of the “Part des Anges” assailing our taste buds, the guided tour ends with a tasting of rum and cane juice. Schedule: 8am: Participants meet at Bras-Panon Town Hall 9am: Start of the guided tour 12pm: Lunch at an inn including starter, main course, dessert, soft drinks and coffee 2pm: Start of the distillery tour Note: Bois Rouge Factory restrictions: Not recommended for people with vertigo, severe asthma, odour and heat sensitivities, mobility issues, or who have a pacemaker or kidney transplant.
