Farm visit and traditional cuisine

This association was created in 2009 by 3 farmers, Philippe Morel, Loic Boyer and Alain Maillot, with the purpose of sharing their expertise and fierce passion. These local farmers wanted to showcase their products and their profession, offering visitors the possibility to visit the farms and taste traditional fruit and vegetables. The tour is followed by a traditional lunch served in banana leaves. Philippe Morel also organises a cookery workshop with a wood-fired oven, before beginning the tour. An all-round activity where visitors are plunged into the life of a farmer from Reunion Island.

Activity schedule:
Option 1:
• 8am: Meet directly at the farm for the cookery workshop. Philippe Morel will be there to greet participants.
• Cookery workshop from 8am to 10am.

Option 2:
• 10am: Meet the 1st group directly at the farm and take part in the last part of the cookery workshop.
All together.
• At around 10am: enjoy a delicious ‘riz chauffé’ (heated rice) prepared in a wood-fired oven (using rice from the day before, mixed with ‘cari’ from the day before).
• Tour of the farm and fields. Philippe will give everyone a chance to smell, touch and taste everything you come across on the tour (sugarcane, seasonal tropical fruit, etc.)
• Back to the farmhouse.
• A casual lunch under the huge, authentic terrace: all visitors will taste the ‘cari’ cooked that morning, served in banana leaves and using their hands. A real, traditional Creole meal that you are guaranteed to enjoy. For dessert, you’ll be served an array of homemade local cakes, and then an authentic roasted coffee to finish.
• After lunch, participants are free to explore the property if they so wish: Philippe will be delighted to show you his beehives or to simply carry on sharing his passion, his expertise and his daily routine with you.
• Around 4pm: end of the activity.

PROGRAMME:
This experience is scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays.
You are advised to make a booking 24 hrs in advance.
The provider reserves the right to cancel the outing the day before, or even the very morning, if weather conditions are not optimal.
Minimum: 2 people / Maximum: 15 people

Prices from:
Aged 10 and over: €40/person
Between the ages of 5 and 10: €20/child.
Free for children under the age of 5
This price includes: the cookery workshop (optional), the tour, lunch and drinks.
You will need: Sportswear, waterproof clothing, sun cream, cap, spare clothes.
