La Tourte Dorée in Grand Îlet has 5 comfortable double bedrooms available, with the Gîtes de France and Villages Créoles labels, in the cool and calm of the Heights. The rooms fall into two categories. 3, classified “3 épis”, are neo-Creole in style and are on the upper floor, giving on to a gallery overlooking the family garden and providing fine views of the mountains surrounding Grand Îlet (Roche Ecrite, Cimendef, etc.). A shared living room is at guests’ disposal. The other 2, classified “2 épis”, are modern in style, heated in winter, and located on the ground floor. One gives on to a small private terrace and the other directly on to the garden, where a swing and slide will delight younger guests. Extra bed available for all rooms. Table d'hôte meals available, prepared from farm produce.

”Si la maîtresse de maison est plutôt réservée, elle offre un repas excellent ,qui permet de découvrir les produits locaux. Elle l'accompagne de plusieurs rhums arrangés maison et de ses précieux commentaires qui permettent au touriste de comprendre le pays.”

”Nous avons passé un excellent moment durant notre court séjour d’une nuit après avoir partagé avec les autres hôtes un excellent repas créole. Les chambres sont spacieuses et très bien décorées d’où on peut admirer le cirque de Salazie depuis le grand balcon. ”
